Summer Mini Camps:
The league will host three summer camps this season held during the months of April, May and June. The Camps are held for three (3) days each month. The camps are held at Morton West High School in Berwyn. The High School Administration has always been supportive of our program allowing us to use the football fields or the Gymnasium for our Camps. The Camps are held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. These camps are an opportunity for the Coaches to meet their players and the players to get to know each other. There is no additional charge for participation in the camps - they are free for all registered players and cheerleaders.
Equipment and Fees:
There is a one time registration fee of $275.00 ( THIS WAS THE AMOUNT VOTED ON BY THE PARENTS AT THE 2009 BANQUET). Financial arrangements are available as we will not refuse any child. Also be aware that COMPLETE payment has to be made before equipment handout! The league will issue players all their equipment to include Game and Practice pants and jerseys.
Team Breakdown:
The BYF fields 8 teams:
Bandits, Mighty Mites, Cadet, Jr Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr Midget, Midget and All American. Children between the ages of 6 to 14 are invited to register.
Season Practice:
Berwyn Youth Football has many players that are involved in other Summer Time Sports and the coaches make every accommodation for those players finishing the Baseball season at the start of our practice season. Practices begin in July. Players are required to practice without equipment for a certain amount of hours as conditioning. Equipment is issued to all players and practices continues until the first game. Practices are held five days per week - Monday through Friday - every evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Morton High School Football Fields. After the first game - practice is then reduced to (3) three days per week as determined by the Coaching Staff.
Game Schedule:
The game schedule is determined after registration and by the Chicagoland AYF. Games are held on Saturdays and Sundays. The game schedule is available after AYF Certification and will be posted, in the future, to this web site.
